We are seeking a skilled and experienced **Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE)** **Officer**. The HSE Officer will review, evaluate and monitor health, safety and environmental hazards to develop strategies to prevent, control and eliminate accidents, occupational injuries and spills. They inspect the workplace, equipment and work practices to ensure compliance with organization and government standards and regulations. They will also participate in the data collection for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) requirements.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead and participate in workplace audits and investigations of environmental, safety concerns, incidents and accidents.
- Develop health, safety and environment policies and safe work procedures
- Foster a positive occupational health and safety culture.
- Provide and/or organize training for employees on issues of workplace safety.
- Communicate, engage and influence decision-makers and workers to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to safety and environmental programs by all employees as well as contractors.
- Data collection and reporting on safety and environmental.

**SKILLS**
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret and communicate regulations.
- Strong effective written and oral communication skills including presentation and training.
- Considerable knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment rules and regulations both locally and internationally.
- Superior leadership, communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with a wide range of individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks.
- Demonstrated detail oriented and organized work style.

**REQUIRED TRAINING & EXPERIENCE**
- Education, training and experience equal to post-secondary education with at least a certificate from an accredited Occupational Health and Safety school; or an Environmental Management Certificate with courses in Occupational Health and Safety, or relevant field. _or_
- Significant Trades experience in an Occupational Health & Safety role within an intermediate to large organization.

**REQUIRED LICENCES, CERTIFICATES & REGISTRATIONS**
- Tickets in Fall Protection, Arial Platforms, and Occupational First Aid Level 1 are considered assets.

This position is essential for fostering a culture of safety within the organization while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
