**Medical Laboratory Technician - Temporary Part Time (12 months)**

**Primary Duties**
- Performs investigative procedures through detailed analysis, assay and examination of specimens
- Performs testing within the disciplines of Chemistry; Transfusion Medicine; Haematology; Microbiology; Specimen Collection and Cardiac Testing
- Practices in accordance with the provincial regulations set out by the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO); hospital policy and procedures
- Is knowledgeable of, and follows the quality management processes
- Reports quality issues to technical director and senior MLT responsible for quality management
- Supports and actively participates in quality improvement activities to facilitate change in the workplace
- Assures that critical results are communicated to the appropriate individuals in a timely manner
- Assesses and prioritizes workload
- Other related duties as assigned

**Education & Experience**
- New grads welcome
- Two years of experience as a Medical Laboratory in a hospital setting preferred
- Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) registration
- Current CMLTO licence

**Skills & Abilities**
- Possesses and continually acquires knowledge relevant to the profession
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer skills, Epic and Microsoft office an asset
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize duties
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with patients, staff and physicians
