The Climate Action Analyst is responsible for analysis and research to support the Climate Action - Transportation Initiative team, including: analysis of customer behavior; evaluation of internal utility processes; development of information, tools and templates to support departmental objectives and customer outreach; contribute to the design of programs and service offerings. The incumbent is responsible for performing a broad range of tasks in support of departmental systems, processes and programs through the development and maintenance of databases, the generation of innovative reports, data gathering, analysis and variance or trend identification

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assists in leading departmental activities to draw insights from relevant business unit data sets / internal stakeholders and prepare technical or business reports with recommendations for action
- Undertakes data analysis to support climate action departmental objectives including identifying customers likely to take climate action; evaluating internal utility processes; and performing calculations and analysis related to rates, costs, energy and carbon measurement, customer segmentation, and sales performance metrics
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders, external researchers and clean tech partners to segment and understand customer goals and needs, performance of climate action technologies, and other internal utility requirements
- Conducts in-depth research on climate-related topics, including but not limited to, climate action and emerging technology, programs, internal processes and policy options, business models, renewable energy, adaptation strategies, and climate policy and provides recommendations based on research findings
- Continuously monitors the progress of climate-related projects and policies, technical and economic developments within the industry; assesses their impact and makes necessary recommendations and adjustments to achieve desired outcomes
- Manages the data related to the planning and reporting process to support management systems (MCRS) and validates the rigor of department processes related to data, planning, and reporting. Suggests and implements process and procedure enhancements to support the overall efficiency of the department

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- University degree in policy analysis, legal studies, science, engineering, environmental studies, data science, data analytics or a related technical field
- 18-24 months of administrative/support/co-op experience related to climate action, energy conservation programs or the electrical industry would be an asset
- Master’s degree in a related technical field an asset
- Experience with SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, MS Project, CRM databases preferred
- Solid understanding of climate action and electrification, while excelling at data analytics, basic research and effective communication of the results of their work
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment with shifting responsibilities while retaining the ability to execute on task.
- Understands technological trends and their effect on business or strategic work plans
- Excellent Conceptual thinking, strong technical analysis, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical ability, as well as organization and planning skills
- Collaborative with a demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships
- Understanding of business development
- Knowledge and understanding of climate action technologies and utility processes
- Understanding of Measurement & Verification requirements and methodologies
- In-depth knowledge of electricity usage, billing and metering of customers
- Technical understanding of electrical power distribution concerns and issues beneficial
- Account management, strategic sales and relationship management skills
- Ability to operate within a context of sales targets and customer service KPIs

Toronto Hydro has introduced a Hybrid Work Arrangement. This position allows for remote work up to three days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite on those days when they are involved in activities that they or their leader feel are better conducted in person. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
