**Reports To**: Chief Engineer
**Location**: Coldterra Supply Chain, Ontario
**Job Scope**
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work across Coldterra’s cooler and frozen storage facility. This role supports the Chief Engineer by ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure while adhering to all **safety and TSSA standards**.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Perform maintenance and repair work in cold storage environments, including **ice removal from freezer ceilings** using sky-jack, ensuring the safety and integrity of the premises.
- Preventive maintenance of lift trucks and basic troubleshooting and repairs on lift trucks
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems, equipment, and facility infrastructure.
- Repair and replace **plumbing fixtures** (toilets, sinks, basins), water lines, caulking, and piping systems (sanitary and storm).
- Carry out **general carpentry repairs** and facility upkeep as required.
- Perform exterior maintenance, including gutter cleaning, debris removal from roofs, and drain clearing with power augers.
- Maintain and repair **dock doors** and provide lubrication and adjustments for dock levelers.
- Maintain an inventory of tools and assist with inventory control of equipment, parts, and materials.
- Follow all established **health, safety, and environmental procedures**, ensuring compliance with Ontario legislation (ESA, WHMIS, AODA).
- Support facility operations during emergency repairs or urgent service calls.
- Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
- Be available for **occasional after-hours or weekend work** as required.
**Qualifications & Competencies**
- Minimum **2 years’ experience** in a building, warehouse, or industrial maintenance role.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and hands-on technical skills across plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
- **Ability to work in cold storage environments** (-30°C) for extended periods.
- Experience operating a **Skyjack and power lift trucks(Reach, Walkie, Dockstocker)**.
- Strong sense of responsibility, autonomy, and accountability.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team or independently.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- **Physically fit and the ability** to perform manual and occasionally physically demanding labour.
- **Ability to safely lift 60lbs**:
- Proficiency in **Microsoft Office and Outlook**; ability to complete digital maintenance records and reporting.
**Working Environment**
- Exposure to **cold and frozen storage conditions** (-30°C).
- Work may involve confined spaces, working at heights, and using lifts or power tools.
- Regular exposure to noise, moving machinery, and chemicals used in facility maintenance.
**Physical Demands**
- Standing, walking, climbing, bending, crouching, and lifting equipment/parts.
- Working in physically demanding environments for extended periods.
- Hot and cold working environments.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
