**The Opportun**i**ty**

We are currently seeking a Technical Leader, MRMR to join our Centre of Excellence team in Sudbury/ Toronto. This is a full-time position.

The Technical Leader will be responsible for reviewing, optimizing and supporting the entire Base Metals resource endowment, exploration and project planning/advancing strategy and processes and supporting and developing comprehensive exploration planning strategies. Provide ongoing effective communications with the Exploration and Project Development teams to ensure efficient and effective exploration processes aligned with Base Metals strategic objectives, that will advance the mineral resource endowment from discovery to development.

Additionally, in this position you will:

- Responsible to develop and lead the implementation of a robust evaluation ranking and prioritization criteria and comprehensive master database of the entire Base Metals multi-commodity resource endowment and project portfolio from early-stage exploration prospects, exploration targets, mineral resources, in-mine inventories and remnant areas.
- Responsible to critically review and provide directional recommendations to the Base Metals annual and multi-year exploration and project drilling budgets, ensuring appropriate allocation of expenditure to the right targets at the right time and right cadence. Guide and support the selection of areas with the greatest strategic potential for economic mineral deposits.
- Responsible to critically review and support definition of the appropriate drilling programs with a view to balancing expansion with de-risking for early and advanced projects across Base Metals.
- Participate in Base Metals exploration and project prioritization and budgeting cycles ensuring alignment with business strategy.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments for exploration projects, considering geological, environmental, and economic factors.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate geological knowledge into the exploration planning, driving our understanding of key orebody characteristics, mineralization processes, and geological features.
- Responsible to develop the mineral rights communication process with Vale SA and Vale Base Metals Mineral Rights specialists ensuring currency and awareness of permitting and licensing processes and risks to the Base Metals portfolio.
- Prepare and present technical reports, presentations, and updates to executive management and project stakeholders. Clearly communicate exploration progress, findings, and recommendations.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in exploration technologies, remote sensing techniques, data analytics, and geospatial tools. Integrate innovative solutions into exploration workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency in target identification and evaluation.
- Support the assessment of business development opportunities across the Base Metals business involving the identification, targeting, and assessing the strategic fit of investment opportunities (Joint Venture (JV), Mergers & Acquisitions, Strategic Partnerships)
- Communicate aspects of the plan on a monthly/quarterly basis as required.
- Participate in the technical assurance and verification reviews of Base Metals projects and operations, ensuring compliance with minimum requirements for MRMR disclosure and identification of key risks and opportunities.
- Ensures the required governance is satisfied for the estimation, reporting and disclosure of Vale Base Metals mineral resources and reserves.
- Provide training and mentoring as required for less experienced personnel within the group as required

**About **Y**ou**

**Education**:

- Undergraduate degree.
- Peng, P. Geo within Ontario or equivalent recognized and eligible designation globally
- Advanced Degree or certification is preferred

**Experience**:

- Minimum 11-15 years of relevant experience

**Skills**:

- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain effective and engaging conversations and trust with to become integrated within the teams.
