Our Newmarket production plant is seeking an **Assistant Plant Manager **to support the Plant Manager and assist in leading a busy production plant, utilizing management skills to develop, support and motivate employees in a positive and safe working environment. **Major Areas of Responsibilities**
- Assist in production plant operations, including direct involvement in all processes
- Ensure daily production goals are met in a JIT environment
- Resolve and report any issues that may arise to plant manager
- Enforce compliance of company policies and procedures
- Cover off for plant manager in their absence
- Assist in employee performance evaluation
- Maintain a safe and effective work environment, always adhering to health & safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as required
**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office, ERP Software)
- Strong organizational skills
- Fast learner
- Attention to Detail
- Confident in making sound decisions
- Effective communicator with staff as well as all levels of management
- Flexible, innovative and comfortable setting own priorities
- Thrives working in a very fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well independently as well as in a team
**Education/Certification/Experience**
- Minimum 2 years experience in a leadership role that involves planning, coaching, managing and improving processes in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 3 years forklift experience, valid certification preferred
- Supervisor Training
