We are seeking a Virtual Design and Construction **“VDC” Coordinator** to join our **Calgary** District team. The VDC Coordinator works report and work closely with the National Director of BIM & VDC Services to support in project delivery throughout design and construction utilizing Building Information Modeling “BIM” tools. The

**What You Will Be Working On**
- Perform various project duties related to project VDC/BIM deployment as required.
- Perform clash detection and assist in identifying constructability issues with the project team.
- Ability to determine and manage priorities with mínimal guidance as well as take on additional responsibilities when required.
- Support the National Director of BIM & VDC Services in communicating the benefits of, and how to implement, VDC for both internal and external purposes.
- Support the National Director of BIM & VDC Services in development of hardware and software standards, standards for modeling, and maintaining an element library.
- Support Canem Systems mission and values as well as all policies and procedures.
- Support teams for proposal information.
- Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.

**Ensure model accuracy for project specific requirements**:

- Development of the Electrical and Mechanical fabrication model(s) for prefabrication and for site use.
- Review and analyze the coordination models for spatial coordination and quality control.
- Manage the spatial coordination process by attending reoccurring collaboration meetings with project teams.
- Keep track of record of the issue resolution process and coordination meetings.
- Maintains a friendly and courteous attitude, even under stressful situations.
- Ensure that all deliverables and project information meet VDC Department requirements of the project contract.
- Provide a communication link between the design and construction teams.

**Field Coordination**:

- Progress reporting tracking from field to office.
- Ensure the project team members have access to all project information and are informed of updates to the project.
- Provide support for usage of tablets and taking VDC into the field.
- Address model constructability issues and solutions for self‐performed work.
- Participate in site logistics driven by 3D model data.
- Assist project team with fabrication drawings.

**Quantity Take-off**:

- Assist to verify original estimate quantities for cost reports when required.
- Quantity survey, quantity review and system input for labor costing when required.

**What We Are Looking For**
- 5 years’ experience working with VDC/BIM related software, primarily Revit (or equivalent)
- Completion of Construction Management Certificate Program or equivalent an asset
- Demonstrated experience in a project support role, preferably with an institutional, commercial and industrial (ICI) Electrical contractor
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project/Primavera P6
- Ability to read and interpret contract specifications, drawings, and other construction documents.
- Excellent project management, communication, and multi-tasking skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent listening skills.
- Proven ability to work in a team and have a collaborative synergy.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in challenging, fast paced environment
- Must have strong organizational, planning, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of construction practices, materials, means and methods.
- Must be a motivated self-starter, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
