**Objective of Position**

We are seeking a **CNC Machine Operator** to join the Glass Line in our plant located in Edmonton, AB. This individual will operate equipment and use hand tools to clean the required items to be used in the manufacture of Glass windows.

The CNC Machine Operator is expected to have a good knowledge of window products, Glass manufacturing processes, and the operation of equipment and use of hand tools. The CNC Machine Operator must be fully competent in safe product handling, and materials identification. They must ensure their safety and the safety of their coworkers by using all required personal protective equipment, and adhere to all safety policies and procedures. The CNC Machine Operator is required to collaborate with the continuous improvement team, and always look for improved ways of performing their duties.

**Key Responsibilities Include**:

- Identifying, selecting and setting CNC machine parameters.
- Identifying and demonstrating use of CNC machine safety, and use of personal protective equipment.
- Identifying materials and workmanship that do not meet quality requirements, and reporting the defective material and/or workmanship to their supervisor.
- Filling out all quality related documents completely and accurately in a timely manner.
- Keeping work area free from clutter, recycling waste, and removing all dust on a daily basis.
- Reporting all activities and hazards that may create an unsafe work environment.

**Qualifications and Experience Required**:

- CNC machine operating experience
- A mechanical aptitude
- Have the ability to stand for an extended period of time
- Be able to read and interpret specification sheets
- Understand metric and imperial measurements
- Have a basic understanding of computers
- Be proficient in communicating in English with others

**Education**
- High School Diploma.

**Experience / Capabilities**
- Comfortable with units of measure such as mm and inches (metric system).
- Able to identify the different types of glass.
- Able to read and interpret specification sheets.
- Basic understanding of computers.
- Communicate effectively in English both verbal and written.
