Description of Responsibilities
Lead Hand
- Proactively lead the Team to achieve all safety, quality and productivity objectives
- Lead team through change and continuous improvement
- Production position
- Perform inspections, and ensure health and safety items are dealt with
- Ensure preventative maintenance schedule is being followed
- Assist with process studies, development of standard workand process audits
- Demonstrate and ensure compliance with health and safety policies
- Quality and error monitoring and reporting
- Assist First Line Supervisor with resource planning
- Monitor order aging boards/Kanbans
- Developing and auditing Standard work
- Involvement and leadership in Lean Manufacturing and Quality Improvement initiatives
- Act as Back-up Supervisor:
Respond to quality issues, determine root causes and implement solutions
Coach, support, motivate, and recognize employees in their work
Assist in training and development of employees
Deal with personnel issues and/or bringing up any significant issues to the immediate attention of Management and HR

**Learn administrative procedures**: time and attendance tracking, processing employee requests (vacation days, bereavement, personal emergency days, etc.)
Assist in proper documentation of Disability Claims, WSIB Claims, Return to Work Plans, etc.
Skills & Experience
- Positive work history at Tigercat
- Thorough understanding of Tigercat policies
- Desire to move toward a Supervisor position
- Understanding of health and safety legislation
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of employees
- Proactive approach towards work and continuous improvement
- High level of prioritizing, planning and organizing abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to take on a leadership role
- Good Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)
