Dick’s Lumber in **Calgary**is looking for some organized, detail oriented, team players to join our team as a Load Builder / Forklift Operator.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Greet customers at the yard gate or alternately designated area as directed by the Shipping department.
- Assemble orders and over length materials, identify products from transfer requests, locate material, count quantity, build and secure loads.
- Operate forklift to prepare transfers, transport material, load and unload transfer vehicles.
- Review daily schedule of pre-booked incoming deliveries. Ensure storage space is available. Receive unscheduled deliveries as facility will permit.
- _Cut down large packs to stock lengths, order and maintain EWP inventory levels and orders stock products in the EWP department._
- Ensure inventory adjustment sheets are updated.
- Direct and/or escort customers to appropriate area of tie down.
- Match “receiving authorization” to supplier packing slip. Superficially check material grade and quantity. Request a detailed inspection and/or count on questionable product.
- Document and process delivery returns ensuring merchandise is returned to stock or to the supplier.
- Ensure all lifts are piled evenly with no leans and compliant with safety standards.
- Work with yard and warehouse teams to ensure stock is properly rotated.
- Maintain a clean and orderly yard and warehouse as directed.
- Complete the forklift inspection form.
- Perform other job-related duties as required including but not limited to snow plowing, container moving, yard maintenance and any other specialized moves that would require heavy equipment.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Valid Forklift Certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating Forklift required.
- Understanding of grading & quality of lumber
- Comfortable moving over length materials up to sixty (60) feet with mínimal oversight.
- Manual dexterity to operate the forklift and the ability to lift over 35kgs.
- Good knowledge of safe working procedures.
- Ability to perform at a high level in a fast paced, demanding work environment.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) with excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience and knowledge in this or a related industry is an asset.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Exposure to dust, dirt and extreme changes in temperature and weather (cold and hot).
- Moderate exposure to personal risk; safety boots are required.
- Busy, high volume environment.
