We are seeking a **Equipment Operator** to join our team in Edmonton, AB. This role is responsible for operating trackhoe and backhoe equipment for new shallow underground utility construction in residential subdivisions.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate equipment in a safe, efficient and appropriate manor
- Complete daily equipment inspection forms
- Participate in daily Safety Meetings and Hazard Assessments
- Participate in daily work planning schedule meetings
- Understanding of soil mechanics and work with geotechnical engineers on density testing of soils
- Be aware of proper rigging equipment and procedures for lifting materials
- Have a sound understanding of issues relating to ground disturbance
- Assist ground crew in duties, as necessary out of equipment when there is no operating work
- Maintain good housekeeping practices
- Administering company standards, policies, procedures and other regulatory requirements

**Requirements**:

- 3 years experience operating trackhoe and backhoe
- Effective problem solver and communicator
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
