Your Opportunity:
This temporary full-time pediatric Audiologist position is with the Community Audiology Service in the Calgary Zone. The successful incumbent will become a valued member of our pediatric Audiology Team comprised of 10 clinicians and support staff dedicated to providing quality diagnostic hearing health care to our clients and families from birth to 18 years. Members of the pediatric Community Audiology Team partake in hearing screening and diagnostics as part of the provincial Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) program, assessment of hearing for infants and children up to 18 years of age, mentorship and student supervision. Clinical activities will predominantly focus on pediatric audiological assessments at the Richmond Road Diagnostic and Treatment Centre. The successful incumbent will be expected to participate in continuous improvement activities that support patient care.

Description:
As an Audiologist, you will be working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, where you will be responsible for the screening, identification, assessment and management of patients (clients) presenting with hearing and balance (vestibular) disorders. Your leadership and interpersonal skills will be important to you in supervising students and providing clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate. You will use your clinical expertise to inform program development and planning. You will interpret findings, provide counselling regarding hearing loss and balance dysfunction, and establish appropriate intervention plans to manage and reduce the functional impact of hearing loss. You will provide patients, their families and other professionals with information and recommendations; making referrals to other agencies and professionals as required.

**Required Qualifications**:
Master's degree in Audiology. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Recent pediatric audiology assessment experience including Visual Reinforcement Audiometry; Behavioral Observation Audiometry and Conditioned Play Audiometry. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and other professionals are essential.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Experience diagnosing hearing loss in children of all ages. Experience counselling/educating parents and families of children with newly diagnosed hearing loss.
