We are seeking a reliable and dedicated individual to join our team as an On-Call Driver. As a driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of packages to various destinations within designated routes. This position requires flexibility as it is an on-call role with availability from Monday to Saturday. **Responsibilities**:
- Safely operate a company-provided vehicle (typically a van or truck) for the delivery of packages.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and ensure compliance with FedEx policies and procedures.
- Efficiently sort and load packages into the delivery vehicle, ensuring accurate organization and proper handling.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely and safe deliveries.
- Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor during deliveries and addressing any customer inquiries or concerns.
- Utilize technology, such as GPS navigation systems and handheld devices, to track deliveries and maintain accurate records.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation related to package delivery, including obtaining signatures and recording any discrepancies or delivery issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including proper lifting and handling techniques.
**Requirements**:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or courier is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent knowledge of local routes, streets, and traffic patterns.
- Ability to lift packages routinely weighing up to 50 pounds (23 kg) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with customers.
- Basic computer skills for operating handheld devices and navigating delivery software.
- Flexibility to work on-call shifts from Monday to Saturday
- Strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize and manage delivery schedules effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing circumstances and handling pressure.
Note: This position is an on-call role, which means the number of working hours per week may vary based on business needs. While we will strive to provide regular hours, we cannot guarantee a fixed schedule.
Immediate consideration for any current drivers working with other Logistics Companies due to the compatible job types.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 8-24 per week
**Salary**: $180.00-$220.00 per day
