**MOA Job description**
We are seeking a Casual/Relief Medical Office Assistant to join our team.

We are looking for a team
- player, with excellent interpersonal skills, who works well under pressure and is able to balance and successfully prioritize multiple duties. This role requires collaborative relationships with colleagues and patients.

Working hours are short notice/on call/relief and scheduled vacation coverage only.

Clinic is open Monday to Friday between 8:30am to 5:00pm

**Position Duties & Responsibilities**:
¨ Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
¨ Front desk reception & client care, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Management
¨ Answering phones on a multi-line switchboard, fielding and directing calls, relaying messages to appropriate individuals as required and contacting patients as needed.
¨ Booking new and follow-up patient appointments and providing confirmation calls to patients as required.
¨ Receiving, greeting, and directing patients, vendors, and visitors, and responding to general inquiries in a professional and positive manner.
¨ Monitoring and maintaining patient waiting area
¨ Receiving, sorting & directing incoming packages, mail, and faxes & scans
¨ Use of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to create and maintain up-to-date patient records.
¨ Directing and assisting patients to exam rooms, assisting physicians in procedures, collecting specimens, taking vitals, & stocking rooms
¨ Communicating patient/clinic needs and requests in a timely and effective manner
¨ Completing appropriate medical billing and resubmissions to AHS using EMR software
¨ Collecting payments for uninsured services directly from patients as needed
¨ Laundering gowns and clinic linens as required
¨ Collecting and entering patient data in EMR
¨ Answering patient questions and concerns, interacting in a supportive and informative manner.
¨ Cleaning and organizing exam rooms between patients and at the end of each day.

**Qualifications**:
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Medical Office Assistant Diploma (MOA) _or_ Direct experience working as a Medical Office Assistant for a minimum of 3 years (required)

**Additional requirements**:
**Background check**: A clear Criminal Background check, inclusive of a vulnerable sector search, is required to start (must be valid within 90 days of hire).

**Prospective Start Date**:Immediately

**What we offer you**:
A flexible and family oriented working environment.
Day shifts between 8am-5pm Monday to Friday - No weekends (Fridays are typically done early)
Starting Salary based on experience: $17.00-$19.00 per hour available

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 7.5 - 15 per week
