We are a licensed group childcare centre in Maple Ridge looking to add an experienced, fun, energetic Facility Manager dedicated to provide quality care to our team immediately This is a Monday to Friday management position which also requires working in multiage programs with children ranging from 30 months to 5 years. Small program sizes

**Responsibilities**:

- Day to day:_
- Provide outstanding care and supervision of children ages 30 months to 5 years
- Collaborate, develop and execute age appropriate programming to foster children’s cognitive, physical, emotional and social development
- Ability to use age appropriate techniques/strategies in guiding behaviour
- Utilize strong group management skills
- Assess abilities and observe children for signs of potential developmental or behaviour challenges.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents/guardian and community services
- Effectively communicate with parents/guardians regarding a child’s day
- Ability to work in a team environment with a collaborative approach but also the ability to work independently
- Maintain a clean and safe environment that protects the health and well-being of children
- Management_:

- Ensures and facilitates the smooth functioning of all aspects of the child care centre in order to best serve children and families
- Provides supervision, leadership, coaching and support to all centre staff
- Assists with ongoing informal and formal performance evaluations of centre staff.
- Facilitates orientation of new staff to the centre.
- Project and anticipate program changes or vacancies.
- Supports new registrations
- Ensures licensing requirements are met at all times
- Coordinates staff scheduling within approved teacher-child ratios
- Consults, supports and provides guidance to teaching staff in evaluating and revising children’s programming as required
- Develops and maintains positive relationships and regular communication with parent-clients; facilitates or directly provides mediation and resolution to parent-program conflicts which may arise
- Ensures regular liaison and communication, as required with Infant Development, Supported Child Development and other community resources
- Provides appropriate professional development opportunities to centre staff, within centre and in accordance with identified training needs of staff at the centre
- Markets the centre to prospective client-parents
- Is an active, contributing member of the facilities Management Team, providing input to Directors on policy and other matters affecting the facility. Communicates key messages on decisions made by the Management Team to centre staff on an ongoing basis.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Executive Directors

**Qualifications**:

- Early Childhood Educator License to Practice is required (Infant and Toddler training is considered an asset)
- 5 years experience working with children ages 12 months to 5 years
- 1-3 years supervisor or Management **experience is required**:

- In depth knowledge of licensing regulations
- Valid First Aid Certification
- Clean Criminal Record Check
- References

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
