**About the Role**:
The Training Manager provides strategic leadership and vision to the design, development and delivery of HWTC’s high-quality, in-person and virtual synchronous and asynchronous training programs.

Your experience in the hospitality industry and as an adult educator will ensure that HWTC is adopting cutting edge techniques, tools and strategies so that our programs are demand driven, relevant and responsive to evolving industry and labour-market realities.

You believe in evidence-based programming and will seek out information and data from internal and external industry sources to inform the development of HWTC training programs.

Using your curriculum development skills, you will design programs that are relevant to hospitality employers needs while remaining accessible to a wide-variety of job seekers.

Your style of leadership provides your team of instructors and coaches with direction and structure while fostering a working environment that supports creativity and responsiveness in the development and delivery of training.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Managing, maintaining and improving instructional tools and resources, learner assessments, and curriculum validation and renewal processes for both in-person, virtual synchronous and virtual asynchronous learning;
- Developing and implementing internal and external monitoring and evaluation systems and processes to track and manage quality assurance of courses, instructors and programs.
- Liaising with HWTC’s industry partners to ensure that training content, curriculum and outcomes are current and responsive to industry needs and expectations.
- Supporting the development and implementation of HWTC’s e-badging and micro-credentialing initiatives, alongside other HWTC staff and in collaboration with external partners;
- Overseeing the delivery of HWTC’s training programs including:

- Liaising with HWTC Service Delivery and Employment Outcomes team members to inform ensure that strategies are coordinated to meet the operational and strategic objectives of HWTC.
- Managing a team of instructors to ensure that training deliverables and outcomes are achieved including; establishing a culture of continuous improvement and organizational learning to support the evolution and improvement of HWTC’s training programs.
- Other duties as assigned

**About You**:

- Certificate in Adult Education, Education Degree, or commensurate experience;
- 5+ year experience in facilitation;
- Recent professional experience in the hospitality industry; This means you have held a leadership position in a restaurant, hotel, or tourism business or association.
- Experience in curriculum development and instructional design (synchronous and asynchronous);
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (Experience with LearnWorld an asset;
- Excellent communications and time management skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- An understanding of systemic issues that impact the experience and needs of learners/job seekers, including individuals with: English as a Second Language, experience in the refugee and immigration system, experience facing poverty, trauma, disabilities, and mental health challenges;
- Knowledge of community services and organizations is a strong asset;
- The ability to work independently, with a strong sense of ownership/ accountability for your assigned tasks;
- Adaptable, collaborative and comfortable with ambiguity;
- You must thrive in an environment of change and have the drive to seek out excellence, always.
- You delight in problem solving and are dedicated to continuous improvement.

This is a full-time, position. The salary range is between $68,000 - $75,000. We have a 100% employer-funded health and wellness plan and generous leave entitlements. Compensation for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.

This role is currently a hybrid role that will require an in-person presence at meetings, training and other events. COVID-19 safety protocols are in place. In the future, HWTC may transition to in-person work, depending upon operational requirements.
