We produce high-quality concrete blocks for masonry contractors and the public. These materials are shipped across southern Ontario. Our block can be found in many communities across the province, from homes to apartment complexes, hotels, schools, and commercial buildings. We created a new role at Canal Block for an _**Office Administrator**_. We seek an experienced Office Administrator to coordinate all aspects of the delivery logistics to ensure customer orders are delivered and accounted for. The Office Administrator plays an integral role in the organizational strength as part of a team where flexibility is a mindset. We are looking for someone to work full-time Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Order Processing: Receiving and responding to orders from customers in a polite, efficient and accurate manner; arranging for appropriate dispatch to the site; following up with trucking companies and customers to ensure customer satisfaction; responding to customer complaints and service inquiries.
- Purchasing: Obtain pricing; order items for plant & office.
- Accounts Receivable: Perform credit checks for new accounts, process invoices, etc.
- Website: Maintain the company’s website and update as necessary health & Safety: Maintain records for the health & safety program; ensure that documentation is being kept; perform initial orientation for new employees; facilitate and document ongoing training for employees; aid in incident investigations.
- Inventory: Perform physical inventories in the yard and compare to theoretical records and update as necessary; aid in managing the organization of the yard and selling slow-moving stock; manage reports on production, as required.
- Generate reports from accounting software using Excel for various departments as necessary.

**Qualifications**:

- Customer service is of the utmost importance for this position, i.e., the successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, an exceptional telephone personality, etc.
- Extremely accurate, high work ethic, enthusiastic, willing, and able to work in a busy atmosphere.
- Eager to learn new skills and take on responsibilities.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- Must have excellent knowledge of Windows, Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge of Sage Business Vision is an asset.
- Cleaning: Maintaining the office so it is clean and presentable.
- Office reception, general typing, mail, and filing, and other tasks as required.

**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
