**Job Purpose - this position is temporary for 3 to 6 months**
Compute and prepare data for journal entries, review general ledger and assist with the preparation of financial statements, ledgers, financial reporting and taxes. In charge of AR/Credit and Revenue Audit.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Responsible for AR/Credit function including but not limited to
- Attend pre-convention meeting and review billing information
- Prepare billings including back up information and statements on a timely basis
- Make collection calls for overdue accounts
- Post cheques received daily, ensure payment applied to correct accounts
2. Revenue Audit - perform daily audit including but not limited to
- Conduct daily review of open guest folios with high balances
- Audit daily banquet revenues to BEOs and daily event list to ensure banquet revenues are recorded accurately
- Reconcile and research chargebacks, respond and resolve guest issues
3. Month-end closing and financial reporting
- Prepare journal entries for the daily sales, revenue adjustments, taxes payable, AR clearing and bad debts
- Prepare month end Collection Report and A/R Aging Analysis Report
- Ensure AR ledger reconciled to Trial Balance
4. Other duties as assigned from time to time
**Qualifications & Skills**
- Working knowledge of Hotel PMS systems
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Two to three year college degree or diploma in accounting
- Previous experience in a hotel accounting department is beneficial
- Proficient in Excel and Sage (ACCPAC)
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in similar position
**Physical Requirements**
- Enter work-related information using computers and point of sales systems
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than 10 pounds without assistance
- Must be able to sit for long period of time
**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
