**The impact you'll make**:
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is responsible for Saje’s marketing strategy, driving brand awareness, traffic, and growth through our channels. The CMO is an experienced marketer and brand builder, with deep expertise in omni-channel marketing, consumer marketing, brand marketing, product marketing, content marketing, media and public relations and events. The CMO leads their team to develop new, innovative ideas to reach new consumers and engage with existing consumers and measures the success of these initiatives through analysis of and response to clear KPIs.
All Saje Team Members are responsible for contributing to Saje’s culture and maintaining a positive environment for themselves and their peers.
**Responsibilities**:
Marketing Strategy
- Grow Saje’s business by developing our global marketing strategy and leading the successful execution of marketing tactics across the team.
- Develop and scale methods to know our consumers by conducting marketing research to listen to the needs of our consumers and center them in every conversation and decision.
- Develop and manage an integrated marketing calendar by identifying the key moments Saje will own during the year and creating meaningful campaigns that respond to the needs of our customers.
- Develop and articulate new need states for customers, creating new shopping and gifting occasions that Saje can uniquely own year-round.
- Lead strong cross-functional workstreams between Marketing and cross-functional partners, including Product, Creative, Operations & Supply Chain, Retail and Digital to ensure that we’re continually improving how we drive our Marketing strategy.
Brand Awareness and Traffic
- Increase brand awareness and traffic to our channels by developing strategies to recruit new consumers and retain and engage existing consumers.
- Develop strong top-of-funnel and earned media strategies by communicating the power of our brand and our products to influential partners.
- Develop meaningful mid and bottom-of-funnel community strategies that convert, by positioning Saje’s brick and mortar locations as community-focused education centers.
- Develop relevant content strategies with a close focus on social media to storytell and educate via Saje’s owned channels.
People Leadership and Development
- Lead and grow Saje’s Marketing team, driving a high performing team who is inspired by and enrolled in your vision of how we can show up powerfully to new and returning consumers.
- Create a team environment where all Team Members consistently experience a sense of belonging and inclusion.
- Measurement and Management
- Measure the performance of all activities and assess them against goals, adjusting your strategy and activities to achieve them.
- Provide ongoing reporting and develop actionable insights, testing and learning to approach new initiatives.
- Control the Marketing budget in close partnership with CFO, identifying investment opportunities and driving budget efficiencies.
**Who you are**:
- You are a visionary leader who is creative, hands-on and strategic; you’re an inspiring leader to your team and to your peers.
- Previously held an Executive-level Marketing role in a $100M+ company before, with 10+ years of experience leading a marketing team; you know the strategies and tactics to succeed and can quickly identify and pivot from failing strategies.
- You’ve gained experience across brand positioning and creative strategy, campaign planning, and performance (digital) marketing.
- Proven ability to execute marketing tactics that drive earned, owned, and paid traffic.
- You’re deeply customer-oriented and know how to pull key insights from customer experiences that inform your overall strategies and the strategic direction of the company.
- You have experience with marketing analytics and automation tools, CRM systems and other marketing and sales technology.
- Proven experience across all areas of your scope (omni-channel, consumer, brand, product, content marketing, PR, and events)
