Reporting to the Subcontractor Default Manager, the Risk Analyst will be part of the Corporate Legal and Risk Group and responsible for risk management and reporting in support of a client group. This individual will also support the procurement and administration of all bonding and subcontractor default insurance, along with claim submission preparation. This junior role within the department provides coordination and logístical support, with opportunity for growth into a more comprehensive portfolio.

This position can be based in either the Calgary or Edmonton, AB office.

**Responsibilities**:
Risk Management- Coordinate prequalification of subcontractors for the subcontractor default insurance program based on established corporate risk appetites and growth objectives.- Perform comprehensive analysis of potential subcontractors / suppliers to ensure their financial capacity, experience and operational resources meets or exceeds project / contract specific criteria.- Adhere to established subcontractor / supplier management protocols and strategies to manage subcontractor performance.- Ensure that all procurement activities are undertaken in strict accordance with the corporate procurement policy and delegation of authority.- Maintain and update a central depository of all contracts, claims, and provide reporting of key risk indicators and other ad hoc reports.- Provide claims support for the subcontractor default and construction insurance programs, including course of construction and wrap-up liability claims submission preparation.

Insurance and Surety Bonds- Respond to questions from internal and external sources regarding the corporate insurance program and provide timely risk advice.- Provide assistance to the project teams in the procurement of project specific insurance coverage and surety bonds.- Support the department with records management for new claims and track the progress existing claims.- Support the gathering and compilation of insurance renewal information and submission packages.- Work with project teams to ensure that subcontractors / suppliers comply with applicable contractual insurance requirements.

Relationship Management- Develop and maintain strong working relationships and open communication with project teams to reinforce responsible risk management practices and ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.- Cultivate collaborative relationships with subcontractors/suppliers with a strong emphasis on confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.- Participate in internal training with the business to educate and support in order to promote responsible risk management practices.

What We Are Looking For- Undergraduate degree or diploma in business, construction management, risk management, credit management, or insurance or a combination including experience will be considered.- Experience in risk management, insurance, or construction management an asset.- Aptitude for analysis and interpretation of data, financial statements, and qualitative reviews.- Understands the value of continuous improvement recommending new approaches, methods, or technologies to increase efficiencies.- Demonstrates a willingness to learn new ways to accomplish work activities and objectives.- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups.- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and me
