We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Waiter/Waitress to join our team at Barkat. As a Waiter/Waitress, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive dining experience for our guests. You will be responsible for providing exceptional service, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction. **Responsibilities**:

- Greet and welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner.
- Present menus and explain daily specials to customers.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders from customers.
- Enter orders into the POS system and communicate them to the kitchen staff.
- Serve food and beverages to guests promptly and accurately.
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of orders before serving.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including dining areas, service stations, and equipment.
- Collaborate with other team members and assist with various tasks as needed.
- Upsell menu items and promote special promotions or events.
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience of 2 years or more as a server.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Wine and cocktail knowledge is an asset.
- Ability to handle difficult situations with composure and professionalism.
- Knowledge of food and beverage menu items and their ingredients
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Smart Serve and Food handler’s certificate.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: $16.50 per hour

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
- Tips

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Toronto, ON M6J 2K4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
