- Position Summary:_

As Brewer, you will be responsible for all aspects of beer production process and day-to-day brewing operations. You will be involved in the development and execution of high quality beer products, resourcing purchasing materials, creating new types of beer, setting production goals and managing staff.

Duties will also include raw materials acquisition and handling, recipe formulation, brewing, cellaring, packaging, boiler maintenance, RO maintenance, and cleaning and sanitation.

Job Duties
- Hands-on involvement with day-to-day management and craft beer production.
- Maintain quality of existing products at both Burlington Funk Lab and any partner contract facilities.
- Effectively communicate with senior management and all departments.
- Develop new and innovative experimental products for regular release, which includes; a wide range of wild and cultivated yeasts and bacteria, a variety of fruit, spices, and flowers and several souring and fermentation methods, including in wood cooperage.
- Manage and report for all aspects of production, using applicable organizational standards for production methods, cleanliness and productivity benchmarks.
- Maintain up-to-date SOP’s for all aspects on Production.
- In conjunction with logistics and finance, maintain working levels of raw ingredients, chemicals, packaging materials, and packaged goods.
- In conjunction with internal operational planning, create and maintain an operation forecast.
- Participate in consumer information exchange, through public appearances, interviews, conventions, and label descriptions.
- Manage QA/QC responsibilities at both Funk lab and those relationships and contracting partners, including all sensory.
- Develop/Manage/Maintain a large barrel program for hundreds of active barrels of wide range of styles, yeasts and bacteria, as well as fruit and spices to pursue a diversity of flavour development.
- Participate and maintain health and safety/food safety standards requirements.
- Other duties as required.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 5 years Professional Brewing experience.
- Experience as a Brewer/Brewmaster is a strong asset.
- Formal Brewing Education is an asset.
- Formal applicable scientific education is an asset.
- Experience working a ‘wild’/barrel brewery environment an asset.
- Food Safety Certification.
