**Overview**
New Hope Senior Citizens’ Centre (New Hope) is seeking a full-time **Project Coordinator** to oversee the Recipes for the Future Project, an initiative dedicated to promoting community engagement and inclusion, sustainable food systems, and intergenerational connections through gardening practices and food-driven systems.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of New Hope, the Project Coordinator will play a pivotal role in a project poised to improve the lives of older adults in the NDG neighbourhood of Montreal. In the first year of the mandate, the Coordinator will build partnerships, develop action and communication plans, and plan partner
- and community-driven programming. The next years of the project will be centred on the implementation of the plan. The Coordinator will facilitate communication among stakeholders, and ensure project goals are well-understood by involved parties and achieved. Additionally, the Coordinator will contribute to the ongoing evaluation of the project by supporting data collection and suggesting recruitment strategies.
This dynamic and evolving project is slated to last 5 years.
**Responsibilities**
- **Program Development**: Design and refine partner
- and community-driven programming that addresses food insecurity, gardening, and intergenerational engagement.
- **Manage day-to-day operations**: Ensure smooth implementation of project activities and timelines, in accordance with key deliverables and budgets.
- **Partnership Coordination**: Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, funders, and stakeholders to expand the project’s reach and impact.
- **Resource Management**: Oversee the acquisition, production, and distribution of materials and resources connected to the project.
- **Evaluation and Reporting**: Support the monitoring and assessment of project activities, ensuring they align with objectives; collect and analyze data for reporting and continuous improvement.
- **Knowledge Mobilization**: Develop strategies to share findings and best practices with the broader community, including creating multimedia training materials.
- **Community Engagement**: Facilitate ongoing communication with stakeholders to promote participation and support.
- **Sustainability Focus**: Collaborate with partners to integrate sustainable practices into all aspects of the project.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., communication studies, environmental science, sociology, community development, applied human sciences).
- At least 3 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in community-based settings.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in partnership and relationship building, and program development.
- Knowledge of food insecurity, sustainable gardening practices, and/or intergenerational engagement is an asset.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required. Fluency in French is a significant asset.
**Working Conditions**
- Full-time, 35 hours per week.
- $70,000 per year, with annual increases.
- Benefits and working conditions in accordance with New Hope policies.
- Two-week closure over the Christmas holidays, excluded from vacation time.
- Initial one-year contract with potential for renewal.
- The position entails working across multiple sites. The majority of the work will be done from a downtown Montreal office, and presence throughout the neighbourhood of NDG will be necessary. Hybrid work options may be available, but a strong in-person presence (3-5 days per week) is required, depending on project priorities.
