**Role Responsibilities**:

This position reports to the Regional Director, Central Region.
**The responsibilities of these roles include**:
- Identifying improvements to the provincial highway network to ensure the safe movement of people and goods.
- Accountable for the delivery of preliminary engineering assignments and planning studies through consultants.
- Accountable for the delivery of municipal funding assistance programs such as Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program (STIP), Alberta Municipal Water/Wastewater Program (AMWWP), Water For Life (W4L), and Federal Gas Tax Fund (FGTF).
- Managing the Development Planning Technologists' review and approval of development permits within the region.
- Contributing to the management of the Region.
- Validating and processing payments to municipalities in a timely manner to ensure stakeholders’ satisfaction.

**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field supplemented by at least seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience with land use planning, highway planning, design, or construction and maintenance.
- Experience in diverse areas with a broad knowledge of transportation planning or programming.
- Experience and knowledge in highway design or contract administration.
- Extensive supervisory skills in a technical environment.
- Class 5 Driver’s License.

Directly related education or experience considered based on:
- A related two-year diploma in a related field from a recognized postsecondary institution and nine (9) years related experience; or
- A related one-year certificate in a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution and ten (10) years related experience.
