Human Resources Advisor

We are seeking a dynamic, highly engaged, and experienced Human Resources Advisor to join our team in a contract position In this versatile role, you will report directly to our Director of Human Resources and play a crucial part in our company's success.
The Human Resources Advisor will handle a wide range of human resources responsibilities, including recruitment, training, and managing union and employee relations. You'll also be responsible for the management, processing, and maintenance of confidential employee records, files, correspondence, forms, and other documents. Additionally, this role involves preparing various reports and correspondence through data research and analysis. Providing high-quality customer service to employees is essential for the effectiveness of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Recruitment: Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
- Onboarding: Assist new employees with orientation and the onboarding process, ensuring they have the necessary information and resources.
- Employee Relations: Handle employee inquiries, concerns, and conflicts, providing guidance and support to maintain a positive work environment.
- HR Policies and Compliance: Collaborate with the HR team to ensure that HR policies and procedures comply with federal and provincial laws and regulations.
- Performance Management: Support performance appraisal processes, feedback, and goal setting.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and data, ensuring compliance.
- Leaves and Accommodations: Manage employee leaves, such as medical or family leaves, and facilitate reasonable accommodations when necessary.
- Legal Compliance: Stay updated on changes in employment laws and regulations in British Columbia to ensure the organization's compliance.
- Termination and Exit Procedures: Handle employee terminations, ensuring they are conducted in compliance with applicable employment laws.
- HR Administration: Handle various administrative tasks, such as filing paperwork, managing employee databases, and responding to HR-related inquiries.
- Engagement and Culture: Collaborate with the HR team and Operations to provide support on activities to create a “raving culture”
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources and/or Business Management.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in a similar position.
- Completion of or working towards the CPHR designation.
- Experience supporting staff in manufacturing, industrial, and unionized environments.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and at handling multiple tasks and priorities accurately.
- Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized.
- Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Great team player with a resourceful, can-do attitude and a solution-focused approach.
- Capable of handling sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
