**Job Overview**:
The vice president for product development and strategy is responsible for leading the product development team in creating new products that will greatly increase revenue while helping to facilitate DIRTT’s vision of transforming how the world builds. The vice president for product development and strategy leads the product development/innovation process from the conceptualization to the final execution and market release. This person is also responsible for the budget and resources to support product development, management/strategy, and ensuring that the outputs meet quality standards and timetables.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- As a commercial enabler, you will work with customers, partners and DIRTT employees to identify innovative solutions, prioritize, create and execute the company’s product strategy and management.
- Lead and technically oversee the key functions in the Product Development and Product Management / Strategy process as well as project specific support, including but not limited to: Structural Engineering, Project Specific Customization, Documentation, Material & Process IDs, New Product Development/Innovation, Testing, Validation, and Codes/Compliance/Certification as required.
- Mentor a team of product and technical designers in the development of products and product lines in clarifying the vision and creating a culture of innovation and risk taking.
- Develop a strong team of managers, designers, and support staff by having a strong understanding of DIRTT’s conceptual framework and with that understanding, pivot to protect and implement that framework.
- Ensure development of new products meets design intent and considers key components of desired aesthetic, performance, compatibility, and manufacturability with consideration to sustainability and life cycle.
- Support the efforts of the commercial team to penetrate new markets and win large opportunities.
- Share learnings and train key team members for career development and succession planning.
- Initiate and promote continuous product and process improvement efforts and drive lead-time and quality gains.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Strategy, Project Management, Operations, and Finance to ensure goals are met.
- Lead the product portfolio rationalization strategy and the EOL (end of life) process.

**Job Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Design and Architecture or a graduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field will be considered.
- Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) is considered an asset.
- Ten or more years of experience in engineering, product management, product development or related roles.
- Strong experience to with the creation and execution of product strategies, strategies and leading a product vision
- Ability to align multiple teams and resolve issues in accordance with business goals.
- Management Skills - Ability to organize and direct oneself and effectively supervise others.
- Decision Making - Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures.
- Analytical - experienced with market / competitive analysis, product costing, and analyzing potential revenue generated from new products.
