**About Lincoln Electric**
**Major Responsibilities**:
- To report directly to the Environmental Health and Safety Service Manager on an ongoing basis and communicate all relevant matters pertaining to health and safety.
- Foster a culture of continuous health and safety improvement in alignment with the Lincoln Electric Higher Standard across the Greater Toronto Area facilities by sharing best practices.
- Conduct EHS Orientations for all new hired employees.
- Teaches, trains and advises new, existing and returning staff on policies and standard operating procedures for the health and safety systems.
- Ensure the coordination and/or conduct all internal and external Health and Safety training as required.
- Monitors health and safety risk management and enforce health and safety policies. Provide implementation support for health and safety processes, practices and action plans.
- Maintain documentation of the company’s safety procedures, accidents and related events. Track, record, report and investigate all incidents that occur onsite and identify possible root causes.
- Perform regulatory and best practice-driven hazard/risk assessments and develop action plans to drive improvement.
- Assist with updating/create company policies and procedures in accordance to regulated changes made within our sector.
- Participate in the development and implementation of health and safety corporate initiatives as required.
- Assist and maintain the administration of our health and safety programs into our corporate database Quest as it relates to the assigned LECA facility.
- Schedule and participate in both workplace inspections and Joint Health and Safety Committees at Greater Toronto Area facilities as assigned.
- Assist with internal health and safety audits and help maintain and update the ISO 45001, 50001 and ISO 14001 system as applicable.
- Process workers compensation documentation and file form 7’s on behalf of the company. Conduct return to work protocols for employees on WSIB or other injuries or illnesses.
- Act as a liaison between management and external safety agencies, such as EMS, MOL, insurance personnel and LECO.
- Provide support to our Greater Toronto Area facilities as needed.Travel may be required to our various Greater Toronto Area facilities from time to time.
- Abide by and actively support Lincoln Electric’s Environmental Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures with respect to protecting the environment, the conservation of natural resources and the Health & Safety of all employees
- To participate co-operatively as an employee within the company’s GPMP and Merit Rating System.
- To actively participate in company, staff or individual one-on-one meetings on an ongoing basis for the purposes of effective teamwork, enhanced communication and progressive co-operation strategies within the department as well as other departments across the company.
- To continually contribute to the profitability of the company and ongoing business operations by initiating, recommending and implementing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.
- To conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required by the Environmental Health and Safety Service Manager in a timely and professional manner.
**Education Skills and Aptitude**:
- Post-secondary education
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a timely manner
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple project and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines
- Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish professional relationships with employees
**Minimum Experience Requirement**:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of EHS Management Systems
- Knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and standards
