Northeastern has an opportunity available for an experienced Project Manager / Project coordinator based out of the Halifax Region but available to travel. This is a contract position with no known end date. This person will manage a specific list of capital projects to ensure scope, timeline, and budget is met. They will lead Client internal project teams to ensure all aspects of the project is planned and executed. **T**his position is accountable for management of contractors and contracted project staff. The Project manager works part of the time from home, part of the time from employer provided workplace or in the community. The position is a combination of Monday to Friday, Days, and on call emergencies.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Capital projects and Cost Management - Maintain budgets and manages capital investment projects nationally that ensure capital timeline and budgets are met.
- Contractor Management - Executes Capital work plan through direct project management, supervision of contractors and contractor management of outsourced project management work, contract administration, cost management and stewardship reporting.
- Business Priority Alignment - Lead internal capital project team to ensure all aspect of the project are planned and executed.
- Improvement and Efficiency - Contribute to the development of departmental processes and methodologies which will enable superior customer service and quality services.
- Supporting a Client with over 450 facilities, many with critical building systems, results in daily events that require immediate action, This role must plan for responding to unplanned events as well as continuing to execute on the planned work.

**Skills / Qualifications**:

- Self Motivated requiring limited Supervision
- Minimum of 10 years of related project management experience, Preferably in Retail construction.
- College Diploma or Technical Certification, Project Management related
- Experience managing projects and complex initiatives through to successful completion, experience managing projects through contracting out, strong experience using spreadsheets, word processing, and strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task, excellent communication skills.
- Valid Drivers license is necessary
- Physically able to lift/ push / pull up to 50 lbs. and able to withstand prolonged sitting standing and Regular repetitive movements.
- Must be able to visit construction sites and walk over rough ground, including winter conditions.
- effective problem solving ability necessary
- ability to switch tasks and adapt to changing priorities

**Compensation**:

- $40.00 per hour
- Use of company computer and Cell phone
- Optional group benefits

**Salary**: $40.00 per hour
