**Job Summary**:
The Disability Services department provides support to individuals with a wide range of diagnoses, including but not limited to developmental disabilities, physical limitations, behavioral and psychological challenges, and medical fragility.

**Hours of work**:Starting Saturdays from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM, then evolving into 1-2 weekend shifts. This position may also evolve into a Host Contractor role. The location is in Sherwood Park, AB.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support Individual who is non-verbal, experiences frequent seizures, and has mobility issues
- Support Individual with daily living skills (personal care, medication administration, and recreation) and activities in their home
- Model organizational and behavioral strategies
- Participate in the development and implementation of Individual Service Plans
- Implement service plans, follow specified programs (ex. behavior programs), and document the individual’s progress
- Complete required documentation for recording service delivery including medication administration reports, monthly logs, and incident reports
- Complete any other daily or monthly department or individual documentation as assigned by the supervisor
- Follow policies and procedures as outlined in YWCA Edmonton policies and procedures manual
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required

**Qualifications Required**

**Education**:

- Grade 12 equivalency
- One year of Post-Secondary education in Human Services or other medical background is preferred

**Certification**:

- Intervention Record Check and Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector (no more than 6 months old)
- Current Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certification from an Alberta OHS-approved training agency
- Safe Bathing and Showering certification

**Experience**:

- Minimum one (1) year of related work experience in the human services field supporting Individuals with disabilities
- Must be comfortable supporting individual with frequent seizures and following seizure protocol
- Basic computer skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to interact positively with a diverse population
- Able to handle stressful situations and work independently

**Additional Requirements**:

- A keen interest in community integration of children and adults with disabilities
- Willingness to complete YWCA Edmonton provided training in /MANDT, Medication Administration, Abuse Prevention & Response, Infectious Disease & Prevention, and WHMIS (within 6 months of start date)
- Willingness to complete agency documentation and mandatory training

**Wage**:
The Community Support Worker hourly wage is $21.60/hour
