Building Infrastructure Project Manager

- As the Building Infrastructure Project Manager, you will be accountable for the delivery of capital construction projects from conception to completion. You will ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Primary duties include:
- Collaborate with project sponsors, internal and external partners to define project scope, goals and requirements.
- Develop project plans, budgets and system designs.
- Determine procurement strategy for design consultants and contractors, write technical specifications, prepare tender documents, and negotiate contracts.
- Monitor and control the schedule, scope, costs and quality of the project.
- Identify and manage project dependencies, risks, develop, implement and manage mitigation strategies.
- Prepare procurement documents, in consultation with Supply and Law.
- Lead the selection of consultants and contractors, negotiate and approve timelines, costs, and approve changes where necessary.
- Ensure contractors meet and adhere to environmental, health and safety regulations, and policy and legislative requirements.
- Manage environment site assessments and safety incident responses and ensure all safety improvements are implemented.
**Qualifications**
- A Journeyman ticket in HVAC, (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, and at least 6 years of project management experience in the delivery of facility construction projects; OR
- A completed 2 year technical diploma and at least 5 years of project management experience in the delivery of facility construction projects; OR
- A degree and at least 4 years of project management experience in the delivery of facility construction projects.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending OR; a valid Graduated Driver's Licence (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent professional certification is a definite asset.
- Success in this position requires effective communication and organizational skills; and the ability to work as a part of a team.
**Working Conditions**: Requires regular travel to construction sites, which may entail exposure to hazardous materials.
