The Information Technology Services Department requires an innovative/energetic professional to work within the Board’s state-of-the-art, multi-tiered computing environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing functional guidance and leadership in the planning, evaluation, design, implementation, development, and maintenance of Board-approved information technologies at a senior technical level.

Under the direction of their Manager, the Network Systems Administrator will collaborate with technical staff to provide guidance on effectively implementing the network infrastructure components of IT systems, and IT systems in development.

**The functions of this position could include (but are not limited to)**:

- Maintaining, troubleshooting, installing, researching, and resolving technical issues related to network infrastructure, including wireless technology, unified communications systems (VOIP), network cabling systems (copper + fiber ANSI/TIA connectivity standards), battery backup systems (UPS), telephony (PSTN), computers, file servers, and labs.
- Manage the deployment, configuration and maintenance of Board-approved software and operating systems.
- Configuring and administering enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions for the network environment.
- Collaborate on the maintenance and implementation of the Board’s Disaster Recovery Plan
- Automating tasks using Powershell and other scripting tools
- Create knowledge base articles / documentation for technical resources in Helpdesk systems and processes
- Other duties as assigned

Network Systems Administrator must be skilled in tasks such as the installation, upgrading, and maintenance of Windows 10 and Windows 11 workstations, Microsoft Windows Servers, Hyper-V virtual machines, MS SQL servers and Linux based network systems, ensuring stable & reliable operation across various networked environments.

**The successful applicant will have the following qualifications**:

- Minimum 3-year college diploma in computer technology, information technology or computer science related fields and 5+ years of computer networking experience and certified in at least two of the following: A+, Network +, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or NCT. In addition, Microsoft and other industry solution certificates are an asset.
- 5+ years experience troubleshooting and supporting three or more of the following systems: Windows Server 2016 and above, Windows 10, Windows 11, Linux/Unix, SQL-92 Compliant systems
- The ability to install, configure, diagnose, and support the following network infrastructure technologies: network switches (HP/Aruba/Cisco), VOIP Unified Communication systems (FortiVoice), enterprise wireless network systems (Aruba), Network Access Control systems (Packetfence/ Aruba ClearPass), battery backup systems (Tripplite/Eaton/APC), firewalls (Fortinet) and NRBN fiber optic network systems.
- Experience and working knowledge of MS Office 365, Google Workspace, Microsoft Visio, Apple iOS, Android operating systems, Google Management console, TOPdesk, Intune, Network Management Systems (LibreNMS) and Aruba Central.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present training information to a variety of staff members within our Board.
- A valid driver’s license is required, along with the ability to travel as needed to schools, offices and offsite locations as required.
- The ability to work independently and within a team is essential, along with strong documentation skills are required.
- Lifting equipment and ladder work is required.
