**Chief Editor, RxFiles Academic Detailing Service**:
RxFiles is Saskatchewan’s academic detailing service whose mandate is to provide evidence-informed, objective, comparative drug information and promote optimal drug therapy. The service considers available evidence and clinical experience, synthesized into practical information resources. Information is then delivered to healthcare providers via academic detailing discussions, conference presentations, and printed/digital educational materials. RxFiles Academic Detailing is based out of the University of Saskatchewan, College of Pharmacy and Nutrition.

**Primary Purpose**:The Chief Editor position at RxFiles exists to oversee the publication and quality assurance of RxFiles' printed and digital resources, ensuring they meet the highest standards of accuracy, clarity, and relevance, while also providing leadership and training to the RxFiles team. This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the quality of RxFiles' educational materials and supporting optimal drug therapy.

RxFiles is in the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition in Saskatoon. The Drug Comparison Charts book is published on a two-year cycle. Some travel to conferences and training events may occasionally be required.

**Typical Duties or Accountabilities**:

- **Editorial Oversight**:Manage the editorial process for all RxFiles resources to ensure they meet the quality standards established by RxFiles for their materials. The resources produced by RxFiles include but are not limited to, the RxFiles Drug Comparison Charts books, various online resources, academic detailing materials, patient-facing resources, and other materials. The Chief Editor also oversees the regular updating of existing resources to reflect critical appraisal of the latest research and clinical guidelines. The Chief Editor will be expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practices and policies, utilizing this extensive expertise to guide the strategic direction, goals, and vision of the drug information unit.
- **Creating, Writing, and Editing**:Create new, and update existing printed and digital resources. This includes being the lead author for various RxFiles resources.
- **Content Quality Assurance**:Ensure all content meets high standards for accuracy, clarity, and relevance through the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance processes.
- **Project Management**:Coordinate with authors, reviewers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient publication of materials.
- **Team Supervision**:Supervise and mentor team members involved in writing, editing, and evidence gathering. Provide guidance and feedback to enhance team member performance and professional development. Assist team members in establishing and achieving personal performance goals.
- **Collaboration**:Internally, the Chief Editor works closely with the RxFiles team, graphic designers, and other departments, as applicable, to produce cohesive and comprehensive publications. Externally, the Chief Editor maintains a network of content developers of services with similar mandates (e.g. other academic detailing services, Canadian Drug Agency, PEER).
- **Strategic Planning**:Exhibit a strategic focus with the ability to plan and execute long-term initiatives that align with the vision and goals of the RxFiles. Ensure new projects and initiatives align with strategic goals, as well as the vision and mission of RxFiles.

**Annual measurable goals include**:

- **Editorial Oversight and Quality Assurance**:

- Ensure all RxFiles resources meet established quality standards.
- Coordinate the completion of updates for existing active resources within the year (e.g. drug comparison charts), reflecting the latest research and clinical guidelines.
- **Project Management**:

- Successfully coordinate and publish all scheduled materials on time.
- **Team Supervision and Development**:

- Conduct annual performance reviews for all writers in collaboration with the Director.
- Facilitate monthly meetings with the writing team to ensure cohesive and comprehensive publications.
- **Strategic Planning and Execution**:

- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic priorities.

**Education**:

- Entry to practice degree in pharmacy or another suitable profession related to pharmacotherapy. An advanced degree in pharmacotherapy or additional training or experience in research, epidemiology, critical appraisal, knowledge transfer, and/or evidence-informed medicine as it relates to drug therapy decision-making would be an asset.
- Formal training / education in evidence-based medicine is an asset.
- Formal training / education in one of the following areas is an asset: leadership, project management, human resources.

**Licenses**: Must be licensed, or eligible for licensure, with the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy Professionals, or other suitable professional regulatory body.

**Experience**: A minimum of 10 years of
