Investing years into R&D to create the safest containment system in the world and taking on the industry status quo to petition for higher standards in sharps protection, we witnessed an 80+ percent reduction in disposal-related needlestick injuries nationwide. And then we kept going... Daniels Health is a well-established company, whose vision is to "Make Healthcare Safer" through the reduction of needle-stick injuries and cross-contamination throughout healthcare facilities. We're actively seeking reliable, full-time, permanent Route Driver, Class 5 with Air license **What we offer**: Competitive hourly rate of pay offered. Competitive benefits - pension, health, dental, etc. Stable & growing company with long tenured employees **Responsibilities**: - Loads and unloads truck by placing and securing items in such a manner that prevents damage to the products and truck, regular lifting will be required; - Ensuring all materials are properly packaged, and orders are fully complete and in accordance with the packing slip prior to trip departure. Should exceptions arise, drivers are to communicate directly to the Operations Manager for guidance; - Deliver and collect products/waste containers in accordance with scheduled route and serves customers by understanding, resolving and/or forwarding customer questions. Continuously provides an unwavering commitment to meeting customer demands and requirements on a daily basis; - Diligently completes Daniels' commercial vehicle cleaning and disinfecting protocol on a daily basis; - Maintains the cleanliness of the truck cab using cleaners provided by the company (i.e. wiping down dashboard, cleaning windows and mirrors, removing all personal items and debris from vehicle, refraining from smoking as it is strictly prohibited in all Daniels vehicles); - Accurately records information on packing slip and manifest, ensuring compliance with TDG Regulations; - Maintains safe operation by complying with organization operational policies, procedures and standards, as well as local driving rules and regulations; - Operates vehicle in a defensive manner, such as to prevent motor vehicle accidents; - Complies with all environmental & health and safety policies and procedures; - Inspects all waste at pick-up for packaging to ensure adherence to compliance regulations; - Completes all other duties required as requested by supervisor/management **Requirements**: - Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required- Schedule: Sun - Thurs (start time varies between 3:30am - 6:00am) - Every quarter there will be a Nova Scotia rund that will consist of 4 weeks on the road, out of province (home on the weekends) - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Occasionally lifting, pushing pulling weights of sixty pounds or more - Class 5 with air Licence - Minimum of 12 months verifiable, related behind the wheel driving experience (within last 36 months); - Clean CVOR and Driver’s Abstract (dated within last 30 days); - Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements, such as reference check, background check, pre-employment medical test and a driver's road test or equivalent; - Ability and knowledge to safely load and properly block, brace, and secure materials; - Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role; - Ability to establish and maintain relationships with all customers; - Ability to drive the vehicle safely in accordance with all traffic regulations; - Ability to complete compliance paperwork and all shipping documents/bill of ladings; - Ability to work flexible hours (such as holidays and weekends) in order to complete routes in accordance with schedules; - Ability to adhere to all internal policies, as well as all federal and provincial legislative requirements; - Ability to perform other duties as required by Management.
