Landscape Maintenance Worker

**Job Overview**
**Duties**
- Operate and maintain power mowers, tractors, edge trimmers, chain saws, electric clippers sod cutters, pruning saws, snowblowers and other landscape maintenance equipment
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely, ensuring that all machinery is in good working order and used properly.
- Spray and dust trees, shrubs, lawns and gardens, as directed.
- Mowing, raking, fertilizing and watering lawns to maintain their health and appearance.
- Pruning shrubs and trees, weeding, and mulching landscape beds to ensure plant health and aesthetics
- Maintaining and reparing irrigation systems to ensure efficient watering of the landscape
- Removing trash, debris and leaves to keep the landscape clean and tidy
- Removing snow and ice from walkways and other areas during winter months
- Plant new shrubs, flowers, trees, laying sod as well as monitoring and maintaining their health
- Adherence to safety protocols and standards on-site, to ensure a safe working environment.
- Time management and adherence to quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned
**Essential Qualifications**
- Solid communication skills, attention to detail and ability to be flexible to change
- Experience in all aspects of landscape maintenance
- Class G License with experience driving with a trailer.
- Knowledge of horticulture
- Ability to work independently
**Education and Experience**
- Post secondary education in horticulture or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of landscape experience
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- May be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel; reach with hand and arms, and stoop, kneel or crouch as needed.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
- May require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.

- Travel to various sites will be required (vehicle will be provided)
