**Garaventa Lift** is a world-class manufacturer of wheelchair lifts, LU/LA elevators, and home elevators located in
**Surrey, BC.** Currently, we are seeking a
** Buyer / Planner.**

As the buyer / planner you will be responsible for supporting all materials, supplies and services, as assigned, ensuring best price, service, lead-times and quality

**The key performance measures for this position are**:

- Purchase variance to standard cost
- Inventory service level; number of stock outs
- Number of inventory turns, for given SKU’s
- On-time delivery, from assigned vendors.

**Main responsibilities**
- Provide support, for assigned materials, supplies and services, utilizing MRP reports and submitted requisition forms
- Manage vendor performance; purchase price variance, freight-in costs, support on expedite /de expedite, quality metrics and processing of non-conformance materials / services
- Manage accuracy and completeness of vendor / purchase parts information, within the ERP system
- Develop product and commodity knowledge to improve competitive pricing, alternate supply options and information on industry trends
- Ensure clear and timely communication on any potential purchase delays, along with recommended corrective measures, to mitigate disruption.

**Qualifications and requirements**
- A minimum of 2 years procurement experience.
- Post secondary education in supply chain preferred.
- Previous ERP/MRP system experience preferred.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Able to creatively problem solve and trouble shoot.
- Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen and Kanban principles is considered an asset.
- Must be detailed oriented and a self-starter.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
