Designs and drafts trailer parts and assemblies. Inspects defective manufactured parts, and acts as an internal and external technical support in order to meet customer specifications.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Works from sketched and verbal instructions to design and draft parts and assemblies. Consult with project supervisors to obtain specialized information as needed. Create the bill of materials and work with ERP systems.
- Examines, measures, and inspects defective parts for nonconformance to design drawing specifications.
- Provide technical support to various departments. Acts as the liaison for manufacturing and completion shop staff if products cannot be built to print.
- Works towards standardizing all product lines.
- May assist or provide training to less experienced staff.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**_Education & Experience:_**
- Mechanical engineering background with 2+ years in a manufacturing environment in order to understand manufacturing processes
- Background in transportation, metal fabrication industry is highly recommended
- Knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement practices preferred.
- MET or CET preferred

**_Skills:_**
- Proficiency in 3D modeling, preferably with Pro-E
- Proficient MS Office
- Highly analytical and detail-oriented
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Organized, sets priorities, meets deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
- Ability to write technical reports

**HOURS**:

- Monday to Friday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM
