The NERC CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring compliance with NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) CIP and other regulations related to NPCC (Northeaster Power Coordinating Council) and NERC Requirements. The NERC CIP Compliance Analyst documents compliance status, validates NERC / NPCC scope against developed policies and procedures (developing new policies and procedures as needed), determines strategy for tracking operational compliance activities goals including: gathering current state and periodic audit readiness and working closely with technology functions to ensure goals are met, with the support of other NERC CIP Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

Key elements of this role include:

- Own NERC Compliance and serve as a functional expert with a deep understanding of compliance needs of CIP capabilities by developing, managing and administration of the lifecycle of policies, processes, and procedures and awareness training impacting NERC CIP Compliance.
- Own and develop day to day relationships with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts), working with them to optimize and enhance compliance as well as establish a deep understanding of our NERC CIP needs.
- Provide compliance expertise in regards to NERC CIP needs and processes; developing, managing and administration of the lifecycle of policies, processes, and procedures, and awareness training impacting NERC CIP compliance including being an SME for 7 of the 13 CIP standards.
- Align and support with strategic direction of broader organization. Collaborate with other CIP SMEs to identify and manage NERC CIP requirements to support and ensure compliance.
- Facilitate and coordinate NERC CIP audit preparation plans, calendars and remediation and ensure internal and external audits are completed.
- Manage Activities and documents completion for compliance for self-certification, data submissions and event reporting.
- Manage remediation: track, report and ensure remediation of findings found by compliance operation team self-assessments, Internal Audits, Mock-Audits, or NPCC Audits.
- Assist in recommendations, design and implementation of future automated systems, procedures, and methods required for maintaining and streamlining NERC CIP compliance.
- Provide specific contributions as directed by Sr. Compliance Engineer, such as but not limited to, supporting O&P (Operations and Planning) Compliance Coordinator to oversee the Document Revision Committee.

You will be responsible for personal safety, that of co-workers, and those under your direction by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environment management system processes and initiatives.

- At least 5 years of related compliance experience, internal and external audit experience, or project management related experience.

- You are adaptable to change and a self-motivated individual who is committed to optimizing workflow and business process improvements.

- Excellent computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
- You are a process-thinker and will be able to build relationships with key operating, maintenance, and engineering staff.
- You have strong oral and presentation skills.
- You have a valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of power system operations, internal and external audit processes, NERC or NPCC, and project management is considered an asset.

You will be available for after-hours consultation and emergency power restoration work as required.
