Spread’Em Kitchen is an international award winning company specializing in cashew-based dips and dairy-alternative cheese products. We are looking to hire a **Quality Assurance Technician** to work alongside our Food Safety Team to carry out routine testing and ensure HACCP standards are maintained.

**Position Overview**:
Requiring a high level of attention to detail, the QA Technician is responsible for strictly adhering to the organization's quality assurance policies and identifying defects and/or production errors to prevent these materials from entering the supply chain. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Promote a Health and Safety, Food Safety, GMP & Quality Culture by adhering to company standards at all times
- Maintaining and improving the GMP Program, HACCP System, and SQF Program.
- Daily monitoring of the day-to-day facility and processing operations, ensuring adherence to all company and regulatory standards, including but not limited to, equipment inspection, pre-op and post-op procedures.
- Conduct GMP inspections and regular internal audits.
- Perform EMP and ATP swabbing.
- Conduct micro, sensory, and pH testing; including examining raw materials, processes, retained and finished products to ensure they comply with quality and food safety standards.
- Audit employee hygiene and GMPs in a manufacturing environment.
- Monitoring the temperature records and database records.
- Work closely with the Production Supervisors and Sanitation Team to ensure the SSOP, ATP and EMP procedures are implemented properly.
- Maintain raw material/ finished product control sample and retained sample database.
- Completes various quality reporting tasks including trend analysis and non-conformance.
- Prepare samples for third party lab analysis.
- Manages product specifications, verification, and documentation, including updating production floor documents to ensure compliance.
- Check and/or request COA from suppliers.
- Assist in reviewing batch records and other manufacturing records.
- Conduct in-process quality control checks such as CP and other control points, and keep records
- Inspect production material as assigned for defects.
- Inspect any returned items or incoming goods as necessary.
- Maintain QA control documentation.
- Responsible for reporting food safety problems and/or quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate actions.
- Help with other duties as assigned by Quality Assurance Coordinator or Quality Assurance Person.

**Requirements**:

- Post Secondary Education, preferably in microbiological training in QA/QC Systems Programs.
- Minimum 1 year of direct work experience with QA systems, regulations, guidelines, and associated standards.
- Direct knowledge of Organics (OCIA), QA methodologies.
- Practical experience with risk management, product testing, capability studies, and control plans.
- Highly motivated and self-directed individual, who is capable of multitasking, and able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker.
- Able to interface directly with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to create and review technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures, and design documents.
- Able to develop, review, and maintain metrics and quality audits.
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
- Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Knowledge of Nuts For Cheese products.
- Able to start at 8:00 am Monday through Friday.
- Available to work on weekends occasionally if needed.

**Salary**: $48,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
