**Buyer / Purchaser**

**About the Job**

We are seeking a Buyer / Purchaser to join our team. The Buyer will pursue opportunities to improve efficiency of the procurement process. They will balance the opportunity for cost reduction and timely delivery schedules. They will establish, control, and maintain adequate inventory levels as well as manage, track and expedite the flow of purchased materials.

**Your responsibilities**
- Issue purchase orders -interpret daily MRP report for product groups, validate the demand with subsequent planning, issuing, and expediting of purchase orders.
- Manage order confirmations.
- Ensure timely invoice entry for further accounting processing.
- Solve vendor invoice discrepancies.
- Expedite purchase orders.
- Review and update outstanding purchase orders for production planning purposes.
- Monitor and regulate inventory levels for standard stock items.
- Confirm that received items are in good form - follow up appropriately -resolve non-conformance vendor issues and manage inventory disposition in liaison with production and in-house QA team.
- Receive items into data management system and close off purchase orders.
- Have an awareness of suppliers' strengths & limitations - monitor suppliers’ constraints and advise sales/ production on potential risks and cost of supply.
- Review existing suppliers and identify new alternatives for cost reductions and improved reliability in delivery time and quality.
- Track vendor performance to identify optimization possibility to resolve issues on performance and cost effectiveness, product quality, timelines, and delivery.
- Manage inventory items database.
- Manage USMCA (NAFTA) documentation for inbound and outbound shipments - manage CARM Client Portal and suppliers’ USMCA database for yearly submission to a customs broker.
- Assist with documentation requests for Import/Export exceptions.
- Monitor inbound deliveries; manage supplier - carrier
- custom broker communication and paperwork to ensure unhindered border release and timely material delivery.
- Other duties as requested

**Our requirements**
- University degree or college diploma
- Experience in a purchasing role within the manufacturing industry is required
- USMCA (NAFTA) experience is required
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
- Good oral and written communication and analytical skills
- A good standard of numeracy in order to analyse facts and figures
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational skills and problem solving skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
