**Position Description - Scope**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance person to join our team. As the Maintenance person, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining all aspects of the hotel, ensuring the smooth operation of our facility.
To ensure our Guests receive the best experience while staying with us by ensuring the hotel is maintained to the standards as set out by Days Inn Brand. Keep all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance of the hotel under the direction of Housekeeping Manager or General Manager. As you will be the sole person responsible for maintaining the hotel. Continually work towards and support the improvement of engineering service to both guests and associates
**Major Responsibilities**
- Understand and operate electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
- Ability to learn new tasks.
- Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, measuring devices, and safety manuals.
- Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdowns.
- Work with Electronic lock system to fix and repair.
- Carry out specific oral and written instructions.
- Communicate with different types of people to comprehend what they want and to provide them with information.
- Ability to carry out hotel's standards, policies, and procedures with assigned staff.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
- Ability to be a clear thinker in pressure situations and exercise good judgments.
- Ability to focus attention on details, speed, and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.
- Ability to ensure security of guest room access and hotel property.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly
- Coordinate with General Manager to contact external contractors for specialized repairs or installations
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Perform fabrications and modifications as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge and experience in maintenance management
- Excellent project management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal
**Work Environment**
The work environment of this job can be challenging and requires multi-tasking.
The job requires continuous standing/walking for long periods of time. Ability to work on different shifts and weekends. Ability to work long hours due to hotel business demand. May have to do some lifting and carrying.
**Qualifications**
Previous Hotel and/or Building Maintenance experience preferred.
Pay: $20.76 per hour
Expected hours: 36 - 40 per week
