Communications Intern

**Location**: 15 Marmac Dr, M9W 1E7 (Hybrid Role)

**Responsibilities**:

- Build and maintain awareness within the Company by developing and distributing communications pieces through various mediums.
- Support the Communications Coordinator with internal presentations, briefing notes, graphics, event logistics and other materials as assigned
- Assist with communications planning, implementation, and support on the roll-out of Company-wide campaigns and initiatives
- Responsible for interviewing employees selected for the Employee Spotlight Program and developing compelling story to enhance employee culture
- Work cross-functionally with other areas of the business to plan and ensure consistency in tone, messaging, and audience segmentation.
- Assist internal stakeholders with content requests for the intranet, creation of posters, presentations, and internal announcements
- Schedule meetings with various leaders in the Company to collect information for events such as Town Hall, Director’s Calls, and other special events.
- Support team, programs, new initiatives, and perform other duties as assigned including acting as a back-up for team members.
- Assist in developing and organizing company documents, both digital and traditional, for internal and external communication purposes.
- Assist Communications Coordinator in creating standard branding documents and templates such as PowerPoints, posters, and newsletters
- Organize and upload documents to internal SharePoint site and communicate changes to organization
- Create content and maintain internal and external social media channels
- Support with digital communications efforts for Company Website, employee intranet and social media
- Help monitor and coordinate social media posts and requests
- Assist with research, tracking and reporting for projects and communications activities which may include generating social analytics reports and monitors improvements or changes
- Follow company’s health and safety program, rules and procedures and work in compliance with health and safety-related legislation and codes

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum - Completion of college diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
- Minimum - Communications Internship experience preferred but not required.
- Preferred - Completion of a university degree in Communications, or a related field
- Preferred - 6 months to 1 year of communications experience in a corporate setting

- Must have the ability to tell a story or deliver a message to various audiences
- Must be creative and proactive to create engaging communication
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Must have proficient knowledge of Canva design programs or basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
