**What responsibilities will you have in this role?**

The Office, Anti-Racism Equity and Human Rights Services promotes principles of equity diversity and inclusion at GBC. Our mandate is to provide services and programs that support the college in cultivating a community that is free from harassment, discrimination, sexual violence, racism and exclusive practices. The Office is growing We are seeking a Manager who is a champion for accessibility and inclusion to strengthen our team and contribute to our efforts in creating an inclusive environment for our community.
- ** Development and Management of Accessibility & Inclusion Planning Process, and compliance planning and monitoring framework**
- Creates, coordinates, and manages a college-wide accessibility planning and compliance framework to implement AODA requirements and ensure compliance with AODA legislation.
- Coordinates the development of appropriate resources, communications, training, education, and awareness programs to support multi-year plan in collaboration with key stakeholders (i.e., HR, Facilities, Academics, Communications & Marketing).
- Conducts needs analysis, facilitates, and oversees the development of programs, plans, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines with respect to accessibility, equity, and inclusion across GBC.
- Engages the George Brown community in areas of accessibility, equity, and inclusion; Integrates the principles into GBC’s business plan objectives, strategic planning process and overall culture.
- Leads policy review processes and ensures organizational compliance with legislation (Human Rights Code, AODA, 2005) by regularly reviewing GBC policies and suggests revisions based on current legislation and best practices.
- Ensures appropriate communication processes are in place to provide for the prompt and equitable resolution of accessibility barriers (including complaints), inquiries and AODA related feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversees metrics of the accessibility and inclusion portfolio area and reports to senior leaders on issues pertaining to accessibility, equity, and inclusion; completes the college’s annual compliance reporting.
- ** Leadership and Guidance to George Brown Leaders on Accessibility and Inclusion and Broader George Brown Community** (other constituents)
- Provides leadership, guidance and serves as a resource to various constituents and provides tools, resources, and supports to embed A&I practices across GBC.
- Contributes to providing education to areas of the college on the principles of “Universal Design”, inclusion and legislative compliance requirements.
- Consults with and engages internal stakeholder groups with respect to accessibility, equity and inclusion measures and initiatives.
- Works collaboratively as a key member of the OAREHRS leadership Team with a view to the effective overall service delivery model.
- ** Professional Networks and Partnerships Professional Networks and Partnerships**
- Liaises with community groups, agencies, post-secondary institutions, Ministry and Accessibility Directorate that oversee the development, implementation, and compliance of the AODA, and focusses on advancing equity and justice for persons with (dis)abilities.
- Chairs functional committees that advance GBC’s mission and vision and strategies.
- Liaises with community groups, agencies and other external parties on emerging trends and issues, and local needs and priorities.
- Other duties as assigned.

**What qualifications do you need for this role?**
- The level of expertise for this position would generally be acquired through a Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution in Social Science or relevant program (ex. Discipline related to accessibility, equity, inclusion, and social justice.) A suitable combination of education and experience, including lived experience will also be considered.
- Minimum 5 (five) years of experience in developing and leading cultural change management initiatives in areas of accessibility, equity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and demonstrated expertise in understanding and working with: the Ontarians with Disabilities Act (ODA. 2001)
