Wallflower Bakery is looking for a full-time Bakery Manager to lead in the daily production of our doughnuts, cookies, sandwiches, breakfast pastries, and muffins.

The Bakery Manager ensures quality standards are met at all stages of production (dough making, dough frying, doughnut decorating, ingredient production, etc.), as well as ensures final product presentation is excellent and organized. Knowledge and experience working with dough and food handling a must.

The Bakery Manager is responsible for all day-to-day operations related to baking, managing and training the staff, scheduling, corresponding with franchise and wholesale partners, and creating a vibrant culture and a healthy team setting within the bakery.

To be successful in this role, the Bakery Manager should have leadership skills, time management skills, organizational skills, customer service skills, knowledge of baking and what the industry is doing/serving, and a motivation to keep responsible areas clean and presentable.

The Bakery Manager oversees costing and ordering related to bakery items/ products/menu, is responsible for portion and inventory control, production schedules, wastage logs, and produces baked items for our wholesale accounts.

While in this position, the daily duties will include (but not be limited to):

- Supervise daily production - focusing on quality and consistency, proper portioning, following ingredient/descriptions, proper food handling techniques, following daily production numbers;
- Providing performance feedback and reviews to staff;
- Maintaining/monitoring inventory and ordering supplies, ensuring proper food storage and rotation;

To be successful in this role, the Bakery Manager must have:

- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills;
- Attention to all the details;
- Extensive knowledge of baking and finishing baked goods;
- Interest in and knowledge of flavour pairing and food trends;
- Great organization and be very adept at following up with a variety of people (staff, trades people, customers, etc);
- The ability to work with little to no supervision;
- Experience working in a restaurant or bakery setting;
- Flexibility in scheduling and willing to work very early hours;
- Assisting with creation of social media posts;
- Lead company participation at trade show events;
- Ensuring daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks are completed as necessary;
- Arranging for repairs and maintenance in a timely manner;
- Maintaining necessary and succinct communication with the owner.
- Autonomy and ability to problem solve.

Must have weekend availability

**Salary**: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
