**Salary**: $57,229.90 - $60,242.00 per annum (based on skills and years of experience)

**Reports To**: Manager, Employment and Skills Development

**Nature & Scope**

The YMCA Youth Employment Bootcamp program is designed to support youth with barriers to employment to develop fundamental life, social and employability skills. This occurs through a series of workshops and training sessions followed by a practical work experience.

This position has the primary responsibility of working directly with participants of the program to set up work placements and provide on-going follow-up supports. The position will also involve assisting in setting up structure and process for the delivery of the program, outreach to the community in order to promote and recruit participants, and establishing connections with businesses in order to develop job opportunities as participants move towards employment. Additionally, the position will facilitate, improve, and evaluate workshops related to life, social, and employability skills. The work environment is very fast-paced, with a high volume of program participants.

**Major Responsibilities**-**_in this position, you will_**:

- Support participants in assessing skills, exploring career options, and developing employment action plans.
- Deliver workshops on job search strategies, resumes, interviews, and workplace readiness.
- Provide holistic support to multi-barriered youth, addressing housing, mental health, substance use, and basic needs.
- Facilitate job placements and offer ongoing coaching to promote retention and workplace success.
- Maintain strong partnerships with employers, community agencies, and internal teams to deliver wraparound services.
- Share current labour market info and connect participants to relevant community resources.
- Monitor progress, provide performance coaching, and adjust employment plans as needed.
- Track engagement and outcomes using digital tools and client management systems.
- Conduct employer outreach, promote program services, and generate job opportunities.
- Travel within Vancouver and the Lower Mainland for outreach, meetings, and participant support.

**Qualification**-**_you bring_**:

- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience
- Experience supporting youth and individuals with mental health and substance use challenges (incl. concurrent disorders)
- Strong ties to the local business community and success in job placement/recruitment
- Skilled in developing and facilitating community-based programs and workshops
- Proven facilitation skills delivering pre-employment and career workshops for youth
- Knowledge of local youth resources and ability to build community partnerships
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Office 365, Word, Excel)
- Self-directed with a high level of initiative
- CDP or equivalent certification is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for travel
