Job Summary** Repairs and maintains heavy machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. **Location: This position will be based out of the Brampton site but will travel to sites in and around the GTA. There is a company vehicle provided for this role for travel between sites.** **II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. - Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. - Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. - Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. - Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. - Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. - Repairs or replaces defective parts. - Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. - Lubricates and cleans parts. - Starts devices to test their performance. - Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. - Initiates purchase order for parts and machines. - Repairs electrical equipment. **III. Supervisory Responsibilities** This job has no supervisory duties. **IV. Qualifications** The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. A. Education and Experience - Education**:Heavy Duty Technician License (421A)**: - Experience: Four (4) years of relevant work experience. - **Preferred Experience: Five (5) years of relevant work experience** B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements - Heavy Duty Technician License (421A) C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required - Ability to independently manage and prioritize daily/weekly tasks - Ability to work alone **V.
