**HOURS**:3.0 hours per day
**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Audiometric Technician is responsible for the administration of hearing screenings for identified students who may require
referrals to the WRHA. The incumbent will monitor, check, and calibrate Sound Field Systems and will provide required training
to applicable staff. This position will require travel to different school locations and a valid driver’s license, and access to a
reliable vehicle are required.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**:

- As the Audiometric Technician, you will:

- Conduct hearing tests and review findings with Speech Language Pathologists
- Perform equipment maintenance and repair
- Ensure calibration and make necessary adjustments
- Provide support and training in the use of Soundfield Systems
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)**:

- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Manitoba Industrial Audiometric Technical Certificate is required or enrolled in a related program and working towards
- certification may be considered.
- One year experience in the field is preferred.
- Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
- Ability to adapt testing process to accommodate the needs of students being assessed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:

- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Clear report from the Child Abuse Registry.

- Valid Manitoba Driver’s License, current Driver’s Abstract, and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
