Position Summary
Communications Officer, North York Toronto Health Partners & Community Engagement:
Your goal in this position to be responsible for developing and executing strategic internal and external communications in support of North York Toronto Health Partners’ strategic priorities and goals. You are able to think strategically, weigh issues and recommend and implement effective timely solutions. You have the capacity to conceive and execute communication plans. You have a clear understanding of how social media and interactive communication platforms fit into the communications and community engagement strategy. You have superior writing skills to support diverse project requirements. You will also be responsible for NYTHP’s social media strategy. You have the ability to successfully manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. You have strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative teamwork orientation, and the ability to interface effectively across all levels and partners. On a practical level, you will
- Develop communications plans and support the execution of those plans internally and externally.
- Help drive social media strategy and content.
- Liaise with partner and community organizations, patients, caregivers, community members and staff
- Provide media relations expertise and develop key messages as needed.
- Create content for internal and external audiences.
- Help manage the brand and execute design projects.
- Assist in the co-ordination of internal and external events.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree or diploma in Public relations, Communications, Journalism or related field required
- 3-5 years of experience in communications and/or public relations required
- Experience managing corporate social media tools, branding, and multimedia vehicles required
- Advanced computer skills and strong working knowledge of MS Office suite.
- Experience developing and executing integrated communications strategies and plans.
- Brand management, creative design/desktop publishing and production of print and multimedia communications.
- Proven media relations expertise.
- Experience with search engine optimization, Facebook insights and other analytics tools, preferred
- Experience in health care or community preferred
- Bilingualism in French/English is an asset, as is proficiency in other languages

This is a Full Time Temporary Position (12 months), with 8 hour day shifts, in the System Integration Department. We offer a highly competitive total compensation package that includes benefits, pension, and vacation.
