We are seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to help champion our dining room. An individual with a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role and the ability to promote a team effort and maintain a positive and professional approach. Someone with experience in labor controls and a passion for high energy, fast-paced environments.
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the directing and ongoing supervision of restaurant operations and activities. Provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback to the staff. Assisting in the hiring and managing of support staff. Monitor and maintain brand-specific standards and principles. Ensure the highest level of hospitality and cleanliness throughout all aspects of the dining room and other outlets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise the daily operations of the dining room and bar
- Communicate with restaurant guests, receive feedback and manage the guest experience
- Supervise the front of house service and support staff
- Coordinates the ongoing duties of dining room and bar staff, their ongoing development, coaching and product knowledge
- Assist in maintaining indicators, stats and benchmarks for Dining Room server team
- Develop and host sales seminars & LWB seminars for service team
- Champion Product knowledge and provides training and professional development opportunities for all restaurant staff
- Help implement, develop and follow up on new initiatives and standards
- Manage labor costs through appropriate scheduling and productivity
- Work in conjunction with other managers for all FOH service and support staff functions
- Ensures that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety are maintained throughout the restaurant at all times
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the interviewing, selection, training, supervision, counselling and discipline of all support and service staff
- Provide, develop, train, and maintain a professional work force
- Ensure all services to guests are conducted in a highly professional and efficient manner
- Ensure a safe working environment and attitude on the part of all employees in areas of responsibility
- Assist in controlling promo and payroll costs to achieve maximum profitability
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Formal Hospitality training or post-secondary education
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial role.
- Advanced knowledge of wine, spirits and beer
- Ability to interact positively with management, coworkers, staff, and the public to promote a team effort and maintain a positive and professional approach.
- Ability to remain calm and work well in a stressful, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict-management abilities.
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
