**Job description**

The Investigators Group Inc. was founded in 1995. We are an established private investigation and security services company that provides a wide range of investigative solutions for our clients. We are looking to hire Uniformed Loss Prevention Deterrent Guards to assist our many retail clients in Brantford, ON and surrounding areas. This is an ideal opportunity for a dynamic individual starting their law enforcement career or a seasoned professional. The Investigators Group will provide training to help you be successful.

**Position Summary**

As a loss prevention deterrence officer, you will play a critical role in detecting and preventing shoplifters, minimizing the financial loss of retail items related to theft, and writing incidents and prevention reports. You will also have frequent interactions with local law enforcement authorities, working collaboratively to ensure the safety and security of our client's retail locations.

To be successful in this role, you must possess strong observational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Additionally, you must have excellent communication skills and be able to work closely with local law enforcement officials. We will provide you with comprehensive training to help you succeed in this role and achieve your career goals.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conducting surveillance to detect and prevent shoplifters from shoplifting
- Minimize the financial loss of retail items related to theft
- Write incident and prevention reports
- Follow policies and procedures

**Requirements**:

- Valid Ontario Security License
- Basic understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act and Powers of Arrest
- Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends
- Ability to work independently and possess initiative and integrity
- English (written and verbal)
