**The Position**

Under the general supervision of the K-12 Education Manager, the Grades 10-12 Case Manager will support education-related matters by overseeing the case management list of shíshálh Nation students grades 10-12. Support includes developing, documenting, planning and implementing education and mental health programs where necessary to best support the student's needs.
- Develop and implement annual CORE plans and related budgets for the Education Division's grade 10-12 student case list and its various programs and initiatives.
- Plan and coordinate programs that support the overall wellbeing of grade 10-12 shíshálh Nation students with the recreation coordinator.
- Adjust CORE and work plan activities as required.
- Ensure quality assurance and all requirements are met within the Education Division.
- Maintain case notes and action plans in the Nation’s system for each student on the case list.
- Connect with various departments and partners to support an individual student.
- Monitor activities (mental health check-ins, academic check-ins) on a weekly to monthly basis, depending on the needs of the grade 10-12 shíshálh Nation students.
- Review action plans on a weekly basis and provide weekly/daily (if immediate action is needed) feedback to the Education Director and/or the K-12 Education Manager for the benefit of shíshálh Nation students.
- Work with other internal departments to ensure reporting deadlines and requirements are met. Quarterly reports, CMS Council, Management.
- Ensure student records are maintained as per legislated policy and kept confidential.
- Partner and communicate with SD46 where needed/requested for student support.
- Perform all other tasks within the scope of the position.

**Qualifications, Skills and Abilities**:

- Minimum Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Social Work or a related field.
- At least 2 years of classroom experience and case management experience or any satisfactory combination of experience and training demonstrating the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the role successfully.
- A comprehensive understanding of First Nations grade 10-12 students and First Nations issues in BC.
- Knowledge and appreciation of First Nation people and how culture impacts young children and youth development. Able to relate to students of various ages and cognitive abilities.
- An in-depth knowledge of principles, techniques, and training methods used in education from grade 10 to grade 12.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to establish rapport with people of all educational and occupational backgrounds.
